Koordinationsstelle Nachtkultur Hannover/ Night Governance Office Hanover
Seit Oktober 2023 gibt es in Hannover die Koordinationsstelle Nachtkultur.
Zentrale Themen sind ein lebendiges, sicheres, inklusives, nachhaltiges Nachtleben und die Nachtkultur mit ihrem Potenzial als Standort- und Wirtschaftsfaktor. Dabei nimmt die Arbeit der Koordinationsstelle verschiedene Blickwinkel ein: die, der Kulturschaffenden Menschen, die Blickwinkel der Menschen, die Nachtkultur möglich machen, die Blickwinkel der Besuchenden und Unterstützenden.
Davon ausgehend ist die Koordinationsstelle mit zwei Menschen besetzt. Nils Donhauser ist angestellt bei der Landeshauptstadt Hannover, Kristin Wolter beim Klubnetz e. V. Beide zusammen bilden eine zentrale Anlaufstelle für alle Belange der Nachtkultur.
Zentrales Gremium der Koordinationsstelle Nachtkultur ist der Nachtrat.
The Night Governance Office has been in existence in Hanover since October 2023.
The central themes are a lively, safe, inclusive, sustainable nightlife and night culture with its potential as a location and economic factor. The work of the coordination centre takes on different perspectives: the perspectives of the people who create culture, the perspectives of the people who make night culture possible, the perspectives of visitors and supporters.
On this basis, the Night Governance Office is staffed by two people. Nils Donhauser is employed by the City of Hanover, Kristin Wolter by Klubnetz e. V. Together they form a central point of contact for all matters relating to night culture.
The central committee of the Night Governance Office is the Night Council.

Nils Donhauser (Stadt Hannover, Kulturbüro) (English version below)
Hi! Ich bin Nils, 1992 in Hamburg geboren und lebe seit 2012 in Hannover. Ich habe hier an der LUH zunächst Politikwissenschaften im Bachelor und anschließend Bildungswissenschaften im Master mit Fokus auf Kultur- und Medienpsychologie studiert. Daneben bin ich in Hannover seit vielen Jahren in der hannoverschen Kulturszene aktiv: als ehrenamtlicher Veranstalter von Konzerten mit lokalen bis internationalen Künstler*innen, als ehrenamtlich Engagierter in freien Kollektiven, sowie als Musiker, DJ und Mitarbeiter in der Gastronomie verschiedener Clubs. Zudem habe ich mich im Studium in der studentischen Interessensvertretung erfolgreich für einen niedrigschwelligen Zugang zu Kulturveranstaltungen für Studierende eingesetzt und durch gemeinsame Kulturveranstaltungen der hannoverschen Hochschulen die Vernetzung untereinander gefördert.
Seit April 2025 bin ich nun auf Seiten der Verwaltung der Stadt Hannover zuständig für die Koordination Nachtkultur und freue mich, meine Erfahrungen und Fähigkeiten einzubringen und somit vor allem dazu beizutragen, in einer Schnittstellenfunktion zwischen Verwaltung und Kulturszene Hürden abzubauen, zu vermitteln und gemeinsam eine vielfältige, lebendige sichtbare und nachhaltige Weiterentwicklung der Nachtkultur in Hannover zu ermöglichen.
Hi! I’m Nils, born in Hamburg in 1992 and living in Hanover since 2012. I studied Political Science at LUH, initially for my bachelor’s degree, followed by my master’s degree in Educational Science with a focus on cultural and media psychology. I’ve also been active in Hanover’s cultural scene for many years: as a volunteer organizer of concerts with local and international artists, as a volunteer in independent collectives, as well as a musician, DJ, and employee in several clubs. During my studies, I also successfully advocated for low-threshold access to cultural events for students in the student advocacy and promoted networking through joint cultural events between Hanover’s universities.
Since April 2025, I have been responsible for coordinating nightlife within the Hanover City Administration. I’m excited to contribute my experience and skills, and above all, to helping break down barriers and mediate between the administration and the cultural scene, jointly enabling a diverse, vibrant, visible, and sustainable development of nightlife in Hanover.
